Sunny weather & I couldn't resist the temptation of dry & warm Burren rocks...Normally wet & slippery the mountains were nothing but an oasis this summer. Even though the hills are right at our doorstep, I don't go up there as often as I should. It's always so peaceful there!!
I convinced my gymnastics instructor ( a way of convincing myself to spend more time outdoors ) to join our forces and organise a workshop - put our gymnastics skills, the nature, chocolate & tons of good humour into the best outdoor adventure I did this summer.
We had so much fun, a mix of high dose of fresh air & a good session of upside down positions like handstands got right into our bloodstream and resulted in increased levels of creativity - from acquiring Clare accents to coming up with real irish chocolate flavours - watch this space for lamb shank flavoured dark chocolate & some bacon & cabbage truffles :)
We had a little tour of the chocolate factory afterwards and finished off with some lunch and cakes. We discussed current affairs ( ie gossiping ) and went on for a little road trip to check out Father Ted's house.
Needless to say I slept like a baby that night ( by that I don't mean waking up a lot & crying :)). Fresh air and exercise is probably my best ally for stress & that overwhelming feeling of trying to stay on top of everything.
Now, for anyone who thinks of gymnastics as a form of acrobatic exercise I can safely say that it's not. Think more yoga with some more noise ( especially when Nick is around ), a lot of stretching and movement. I missed a few weeks of it due to travelling a lot & ending up with nasty ear infection but really looking back at those photographs I just can't wait to get back to it!!!
